I did enjoy the news letter project! I was in a group with Maggie Clark and Katie Schuler so that was fun! I also liked being able to pick our groups. The newwsletter was about homecoming week. I like the topic of homecoming week because it was something that I participated in, so it made it a lot easier to write. As a group we wrote about spirit day, twin day, and the dance. I don't really remember what the fourth one was about, but oh well.
ok well so much for my last blog being my last, oh well. Now to get a better grade I'm going to blog about previous blogs that I forgot to do. So this blog has to do with how i could nuture my intellecual development. I plan on doing that by staying on task and studing a lot more. I can also try and read... :) (dont really know about that one, bt its wortha try!) I can also work on being on the honnor role. well thats about all I can think of right now!!

Well this is my final blog. Next semester I go to speech class. I'm not really looking forward to having speech class because I enjoyed computer class so much. We did a lot of fun projects, and we did some that I did not enjoy at all. I also felt extremely rushed on my projects. Because I was so rushed, I felt like a lot of my projects could have been better. I also liked the new computers we got. The software on them allowed you to be more creative on your project. It did however get a little confusing at times. When things wouldn't work I did get really frustrated, and it made it even harder to get my projects done and turned in on time. Well I most likely will not be blogging anymore because I don't have to, so this is definitely my final blog!

I'm not really a fan of winter. I hate to be cold, so that just makes me hate winter so much more. The snow is really pretty, but it is such an inconvenience. The other positive about snow is having a snow day, and having school off. I did have fun this weekend sleding in it and playing football. That kind of made me like it a little bit more! I don't totally hate winter and snow, but theres just a few things I don't like about it.

I personally did not like the newscast project. I really do not like to hear my own voice and see myself on a screen in front of me. I think the worst part about the entire project is that everyone in the class will be watching it. Definitely not a big fan of that! On the other hand, Katie and I are doing our newscast on the state soccer games. We had a bit of a setback though because our script was deleted. Unfortunately for Katie, she had to write it over again. My job for the project was to make the movie. The movie is actually a slide show of pictures from the games. We haven't recorded it yet, but are planning on doing it tomorrow.

Thanksgiving has to be one of my favorite holidays. I love all the great food and being with my family. I am thankful for a lot in my life, but I will try to be a bit more specific. I am very grateful for my parents, grandparents, brother, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and anyone else who is very much apart of my life. I feel very lucky to have each and everyone of them in my life. I have no idea where I would be without them. I am also thankful for my catholic life and education. In the world we live in, it's nice to know that we can say a pray and know that someone is always listening. I'm also very grateful to have the opportunity to go to Notre Dame. It is a very nice school, and I feel so very lucky to have this opportunity. Those are just some of the things I can think of to be grateful for.

Invention!
Alright this next blog is supposed to be about an invention that we would want to create. I'll admit I'm not the most creative person, but I'll give it a try. The first thing that came to mind was that I hate travelling especially in a car, and unfortunately riding in a plane is expensive. So, if I could invent something that would take me anywhere I wanted, that would be awesome! I'm not exactly sure what it would be called. I think it would be something like a time machine, you just wouldn't be travelling back in time. But if that invention were to ever happen, I would be so happy!
Inspirational picture!

This is a picure of the cover of the movie Coach Carter. The movie is about a group of undiaplined boys who want to play basketball. When a new coach is hired, there eyes are opened to many new opprotunities. The boys begin to ralize what they can really do with their lives, and work to reach their new goals. This movie inspires me to set goals and strive to acheieve them. It also made me think about what I really want to do in my life, and how my decisions really do affect my life.

I had a good experience with the podcast. It was hard finding a scary movie to do my podcast on because I don't watch very many scary movies. Once i decided what movie I was doing, I wrote my script and recorded it. I also had trouble finding back round noises to fit the theme of my movie. I think the sounds I picked were alright. I didn't really enjoy this assignment, because I don't really like listening to my own voice, but now that we are done with the assignment I'm OK.

Last year, Mrs. Grandon came in and talked to all the health classes. She talked about purity and abortion. My jaw was dropped the entire time she was talking about abortion. I just couldn't believe what they were doing to those innocent babies. I knew I'd heard about it all before, but is never seemed to make sense. She also brought in pictures and some of the tools that the doctors use. It was sickening to see what these doctors are capable of doing to a baby. After that week with Mrs. Grandon, I realized how terrible abortion really is. No matter what age you may be, abortion is never the way out of having a child.

Well it's kind of hard to believe that the first quarter is over, but it is definitely a good feeling! I'm not too worried about my grades this quarter. I've been working hard to keep them up, and I think I've achieved that. With my busy schedule of after school activities it has been rather difficult to make sure I have everything done for my classes. I know my grades have suffered because of this, but that is what being a student-athlete is all about. I think I am really beginning to figure that out this year. I'm sure my grades are fine, but I know that there is always room for improvement.

I chose the logo to the right because I think it displays Peoria how it is. It shows the river and the buildings in our downtown, and I really like that aspect. I also think it portrays Peoria as a vibrant and welcoming place, as it should be. I honestly have no idea what our current logo is, but by the looks of these new logos it needs to be changed. I really hope that this logo is chosen because it definitely shows Peoria in a good and positive way.

My favorite halloween costume that I have done in the past with my friends is when we were trees. I did this with Katie and Connor Schuler, Jessie Blair, and Jordan Fahel. Jessie was actually the one who came up with the idea. (How she came up with it, I have no idea :]) The costume itself turned out really cute. We cut cardboard to look like a bushy tree and stuck leaves on them to make it look a little more real. We did have some trouble trick-or-treating because we took up so much space, but we made it work. Halloween was a lot of fun that year and the costume turned out great!

This week we have been working on a prject in an application called iphoto. We have to spell our name out with picture and then any extra slides we can add photos that reflect us. I personally don't like iphoto. It's a hard application to work with because it always deletes your work. On the other hand, I love this project. I love taking pictures and looking at pictures so this will be a fun project to do!

This past weekend was homecoming at my school and it was a lot of fun. The whole week leading up to it was a lot of fun too. Monday was grade school and college day, so I wore an AWESOME St. Phil's tiger shirt. Tuesday was class color day, and the Sophomore color was red. So obviously I wore a red t-shirt. Wednesday was spirit day, where you wear whatever shirt had to do with our school. Thursday was twin day, which in my opinion was the best day. Five other people and I dressed up as crayons :]. I was pretty proud of our outfits too. Their were some other really funny twins like nerds and ghost busters. Friday we didn't get to dress up because of mass, but that night we had the powder puff football games and the pep rally after that. At the pep rally we had the dodge ball game and they announced the court. It was a lot of fun. To end the entire homecoming week we had the dance, which could have been a lot better had there of been better music. Overall it was a great homecoming, and I can't wait until next year.
This up coming week in computer class we have to make a newsletter with two other people in our class. I'm doing my new letter with Katie Schuler and Maggie Clark. The newsletter is about homecoming week leading up to the game and dance. Our cover page, which we do together is about spirit day, which was Wednesday of homecoming week. Katie is writing about twin day, which was Thursday of homecoming week. Maggie is writing about the pep rally, which was Friday night, and I am writing about the homecoming dance. It's a fun and creative assignment and I really enjoy working on it.
After reading the Missions Statement in my planner, my physical goals for this school year are to keep in great shape, for the benefit of the sports I play. I play golf, basketball, and softball. The sport that requires the most endurance and fitness would be basketball. Unfortunately, I am not at all at the point I should be to start. That all can change though with work and discipline.

Well now I have to make another post about the saint PowerPoint we are working on in class. I personally thought it was really easy. It was something that didn't require a lot of thought and effort and I kind of liked that. I was actually the first one to present mine to my class, and I think it went good. It was really easy to talk about because I chose Saint Bernadette, who I also chose last year for my Confirmation name and report. Overall I thought it was a fun and easy project and I would gladly do something like that again.
This year I hope to grow stronger as an individual and have more confidence in myself in certain situations. I hope that these situation that I may be put in will be handled by myself in a mature, adult like way. I also hope to stay kept up with my school work, and not let other things get in the way. I also hope to be very positive with myself, of others, and especially of school.

This year I plan to spiritually grow by taking my faith more seriously, and act in a way I should. I am really enjoying the storyboard assignment we are working on right now. I think by the time we are done they are going to be pretty cool. I'm having a hard time thinking of images to describe some of my slides but I'm sure my creativity will kick in eventually!

Alright so now that I have read the rules of this assignment, it turns out my grammer on my first post wasn't very good. So, I thought I would go back and make it better. :] I'm still trying to get used to all of this, but I'm sure I can get the hang of it. I have a Facebook, but it's not really the same.
hey everyone, i'm maggie and i'm a sophmore at pnd. i'm doing this whole blog thing for school, but i really have no idea what i'm doing. i really just find this all a little confusing, but i'm sure i can figure it all out eventually. right now in class we are working on this storyboard thing, and its pretty cool and i'm having a lot of fun with it. i chose the song God's Will by Martina McBride. its kind of a sad song but i like it. i'm really enjoying this class right now, but i'm still getting used to the new computers. so yeah thats about it for now! :]
